Family Mission Trips
a time for families to serve together
The 2006 Family Mission trip took place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Families had the opportunity to serve victims of Hurricane Katrina. This was our first family mission trip and it was a true success. (2006 Louisiana Blog).

Mission Trips
Freshman/Sophomore Mission Trip (9th/10th grade) July 26-August 2, 2008 Each summer, a group of teens spends a week working in the inner city of another state. The team spends time with the children teaching them about God’s powerful truth through VBS-style activities. The primary goals of these trips is building relationships with the inner city kids and teaching them spiritual truths. These trips truly provide a powerful opportunity for teenagers to serve God by impacting and influencing others in unforgettable ways. Our teens have worked with the inner city in Pensacola, Miami, and St. Louis. (photos) Application available spring 2008
Jamaica (11th-12th grade and College Age) July 25-August 2, 2008
In 1996, the MYG began a series of annual trips to Morant Bay, Jamaica. Almost a third world country, the group works on the south side of the island, away from all the “touristy” glamour. 200+ kids come in for a V.B.S. where many of them receive the first really good meal they’ve had in weeks. Michael and Leila Dehaney have been working with this church for several years and open up their home to house some of our team each year. This church is a shining example of those who love the Lord and know what it’s like to be “in the world but not of the world.” (photos) (2007 application)

Impact: Junior (6th-8th grade-07/08 school year) June 13-16 and Senior (9th-12th grade-07/08 school year) June 16-21
Impact is an amazing summer camp that takes place on the campus of Lipscomb University. Campers experience God along side of 1,500 other campers and over 100+ counselors. Jr. High Impact is 3 days long while Sr. High is 6 days long. Every day includes Bible classes taught by fun and energetic teachers, “Morning Impact” where the audience’s intensity resembles a college bowl football game, free time which offers various athletics or hanging out in the super hip Coffee House, evening entertainment, and a keynote speaker who uses fresh, inventive and applicable ways of portraying the Word of God to this generation’s teens. Some of the best times at Impact are the times of worship, which is amazing when 1,500 teens are lifting praises to their Maker. The most amazing thing about Impact is the number of teens who give their lives to Christ. Most nights end with youth groups circled around the baptistery watching their friends be immersed in Christ. (photos)

Valley View Camp (K-12th grade):
For three weeks each summer, Madison hosts a Christian camp at our church-owned camping facility, Valley View. Valley View is located in Greenbrier, TN on 66 acres of beautiful Tennessee countryside. Each summer session is dedicated to helping young people grow in their relationship with the Lord, good fellowship, and lots of fun. We have two weeks of overnight camp and one week of day camp. Day camp (June 16-20) is for grades K-3; Junior Week (June 22-27) is for grades 4-6; and our Senior Week (June 8-13) is for our teens, grades 7-12. Many Madison teens and young adults (grades 10 – College Age) work on staff as Counselors and Jr. Counselors. Senior Week offers special speakers, concerts, and events specifically designed for teens. (photos) (2008 Camp Staff Application) () Applications available spring 2008
Wilderness Trek (Grades 9-12): June 27-July 4 Driving for nearly 48 hours round trip and hiking in the wilderness for 5 days may not be everyone’s thing, but it is one of the greatest opportunities offered in the MYG. Wilderness Trek provides all of the camping supplies and food. It is a time for our kids to really grow together and create long friendships, while climbing a mountain in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Each night ends with a campfire devotional, weather permitting. No cars, no phones, no electricity, not a single luxury. (photos) (2008 Trek)

Fruit Basket Delivery (7th/8th grade) November 30, 2008
Each November, our Junior High students deliver fruit baskets to shut-ins. This Madison tradition has been going on for well over 30 years. While delivering the fruit, teens get the opportunity to speak with the shut-ins, share a laugh, and brighten their day. This is a great experience for all involved. After delivery of the fruit, teens enjoy an afternoon of bowling. (photos)
39ers Dinner (7th –12th grade) Tuesday, October 7, 2008
They’re called the 39’ers but you must have reached the age of 50 to join. Each October, Madison teens host the 39’ers Dinner. The theme chosen for the night sets the stage for the menu as well as the attire for everyone involved. Teens get the opportunity to serve their more mature brothers and sisters in Christ while having fun. Teens and 39’ers alike enjoy the time together. Entertainment varies from teen choruses to live bands. This is an event you don’t want to miss! (photos)
MTCAA Junior and Senior High Basketball League (7th -12th grade)
Madison Basketball is FANTASTIC! The MTCAA Basketball League has been in operation since the mid-1970s. Although the length of the shorts has changed since then, the competitive play in a Christian environment still remains. Young men and women involved with basketball league are taught fundamental lessons about basketball and life in general. The coaches do an amazing job at emphasizing unity, hard work, and having fun! The season will begin the first week in November, and it will end the last week in February.
